Description

"This is it. This is their house." The man was holding a flashlight in his right hand, shining it towards the door of a very modest household. Behind him many citizens of Chikiri, blood-mist village, waited, their faces portraying their rage and fear. Both men and women were present, and even some of the older adolescents glared at the house of the family that had just the day before been their friends. That had all changed, however, when their children and siblings respectively had told them what they had seen that day at the academy. How the youngest daughter of the Keneika family, Miji, had been shoved to the ground in play and split her knee open. When she had cried out in pain and shock, the winds around her had warped into blades, marking her and her family as the carriers of a kekkei genkai. It marked them for death.

It was two in the morning and the household was still. The family was asleep. The mob quietly approached the door, knowing that if they woke, it would be their deaths. Upon trying the door, they found that luck was with them. The family had been well liked. Mrs. Keneika had never found the need to lock her door.

Entering the house, the villagers imeadiatly sought out the master bedroom where the parents slept, passing the girls room on their way. Upon opening the door to the bedroom, they found Uo and Mujitsu sound asleep in each others arms. The people looked upon their sleeping friends with malice in their eyes as they pulled them apart and slit their throats before they were awake enough to scream and wake their girls. The mob turned from the couple while they yet lived and headed for the girls room. The last one to exit the master bedroom, the mother of the boy that had pushed Miji, turned and knelt in the doorway, lighting the carpet on fire before following her fellow villagers. The flames took the room in seconds. Uo flung himself over his wife to try to protect her from the flames. Both were incinerated in minutes.

Opening the door to the girls room, they found both Miji and Hidari resting in their respective beds. They went after Miji first, as her bed was the closest to the door. One of the mob, however, bumped hard against the wall, instantly waking the two girls. The five year old Miji screamed as she saw her friends, people she had known her entire life splattered in her parents blood. She was quickly restrained, her throat slit as she kicked at them, trying to break free. Her scream was silenced as her eyes widened, her small body collapsing onto her bed as they dropped her, turning their hateful eyes upon the ten-year-old Hidari, who had opened her eyes in time to watch them slit her sister throat.

The young girl's green eyes went wide in fear as she watched her friends drop her sister's still breathing body and turn upon her. Hidari jumped from her bed and backed herself against the wall as they took slow steps towards her. "W-why?" She asked quietly, her voice shaking in her terror as she recognized her assailants. "Tanaka-sensei..." She gasped as she recognized her gennin-level teacher as the man holding the flashlight. "Takahashi-san, Nakamura-san" Her neighbors. "W-why did you do it? P-Please!" She cried out, fighting to keep her voice quiet through her terror. "Please! W-we, we need to get her to a doctor! There's still time....." Her voice trailed off as she realized they weren't listening. Tanaka Daichi approached his student solemnly and reached out, taking her fragile wrist in his hand with enough strength to crush it and pulled her from the wall, throwing her to the floor roughly.
Hidari landed hard on her back and bounced twice, coughing up blood as she struck the ground. The mob quickly encircled the small girl, glaring at her with death in their eyes. The mist gennin slowly tried pulled herself into a sitting position, but her arms collapsed beneath her, making her hit the floor again. Her emerald eyes wide in terror, the young ninja tried to bring her hands before her to make hand signs and was rewarded with a kunai driving itself into her stomach. One of the teenagers dragged the blade across her chest, cutting deeply. He blood flooded to the surface, drenching her pale blue nightgown in the thick red substance. Unable to stop herself, Hidari cried out in pain, whipping the still air into a fury of blades that twisted towards her attackers. This was why they had slit the throats of her family, the kekkei genkai Koeha.

As the blades whipped through the air, the mob lunged for the child, blades drawn and sliced into her skin. They aimed for her throat, to stop her cry and the blades but every swing missed. Hidari's crescent blades sliced through her attackers, slicing into her body with their blades every time she stopped to draw a breath. In twenty minutes, all that remained breathing were Hidari and Daichi. The flames had taken the entire house and were now licking at the doorway to the room. Hidari knelt on the floor, panting in an attempt to re-catch her breath. She was covered in blood, both her own and that of the murders. Daichi had for the most part been able to block her blades and had very few wounds on his, although he had managed to inflict the majority of the girls wounds. Both were tired, panting, and covered in blood.

"Sensei...." The young mist nin panted, her voice again quiet "Why? Why did you attack us? Why did you kill my family?" She begged, her emerald eyes desperate as she rose herself to her feet, staggering.

Daichi stood his ground, his violet eyes hard as he beheld his young student persevering through her obvious pain. It was a shame, really, that he had to kill her. She would have made an excellent mist ninja, if not for her cursed kekkei genkai. He didn't answer her questions. Instead, he folded his hands before him and formed a quick succussion of hand signs a second too late.

Hidari opened her mouth and sang a high C, sending a single, long silver blade into his heart. Daichi gasped sharply as her blade pierced him through. The flames had come into the room then. The air reeked of burning flesh. Turning towards the flames, the ten year old dashed into the fire and clutched her sisters charred body to her bloody chest. The young nin forced herself and her sister through the glass window, falling to the ground below. She twisted in the air so Migi was on top of her as they landed on the ground, the nin coughing up more blood. She looked up into the sky, her eyes glazed over as she heard death's beckon. The sky was stained red in her eyes, from the flames as her home went up in smoke and from the blood that had flooded into her eyes.

"Lord Orochimaru!" She thought she heard a young boy yell "Look, this one is still alive." Her eyes tried to focus, but her eyes had glassed over. She felt a soft had on her cheek and flinched away from the touch.

"Leave me alone!" She panted softly, unable to raise her voice to the volume necessary to trigger her kekkei genkai. The young girl only managed to roll onto her side, away from the boy and using her own body to shield her sisters "P-Please! I don't want to die..." Her voice trailed off as she realized the futility of her efforts. "I don't want to die."

The young medical ninjas eyes went wide as he watched the small girl, maybe a year his junior turn away from him. His glasses were foggy from his breath. A tall man approached the two children, his yellow eyes sharp as he evaluated the girl's condition. "Kabuto," He said quietly in a nearly musical voice. The young boy immediately straightened his back and turned to his master. "Tend to her wounds. From the looks of things," He paused, his golden gaze lifting to the burning house "This girl is the last of her clan." He breathed as he crouched by the girls' side and gently cupped her face in his hand, turning her head so she was looking at him. He smiled lightly as he saw the fighting spirit in her glazed eyes. "I won't kill you, child. You are far too valuable to be wasted in such a way."
